On Saturday I headed to Frome with Laura and Ethan from Ethan's Journey Charity to help with their fundraising stall.
Laura was designated driver for the day so I got to be a passenger princess/navigator. It was an early start leaving around 6.30am for the 2.5 hour drive. With the car fully packed and Ethan happy with this tablet as entertainment we set off. The roads were pretty quiet so we made good time until the car alerted us to one of the tyres having low tyre pressure. A quick

road side inspection concluded it just needed more air so we pulled off at the next junction in search of a fuel station. Lucky for us we found one right near a Greggs. Would have been rude not to pay a visit there too so we could refuel, and then we were soon back on our way.
As we got closer to the show ground the scenery got prettier, lots of rolling hills and fields for miles.
Due to the unplanned stop we arrived a little later than planned, but the marshals were lovely when we got there and soon directed us to where to set up. We quickly unloaded and whilst Laura went to park up the car I set up the gazebo and table. Ethan deserted us as we were set up right next to the kids area, but we quickly got everything on display just in time for opening to the public.
It was a steady flow of people throughout the day so we were able to take it in turns to walk round the show ground. I took the opportunity to grab some photos and chat with some drivers on my way round too.
It was a hard standing space so perfect for the trucks. The weather was also nice all day so was great for those who wanted to make the most of it and get in some polishing time. There were a wide range of trucks from vintage to new fleet additions. I haven't done any shows that far south before so it was nice to see a lot of new things.
As well as trucks there was entertainment throughout the day, various stalls, truck pulling and food and drink vendors. The kids zone was also popular and the lovely lady running it had lots of activities set up for children to enjoy, it was something I haven't seen at shows before but was a great addition.
About 4pm we started to pack the stall up so we could get ready to enjoy the convoy before heading home. I spoke to a couple of people who told me the best place to stand for a good view without having to travel too far. Laura kindly ran a TikTok live for me whilst I captured

photos of the convoy. An impressive 141 trucks took part and it was well organised and a heartwarming sight seeing them rolling past flashing lights and sounding their horns. The convoy was in memory of two beautiful young girls Maddie and Libby who were killed after being hit by an uninsured car. The days event was raising money for Roadpeace charity and they raised fantastic amount of £8,378.84.
Overall it was a fabulous event with a great atmosphere, everyone was really friendly and happy to chat, would recommend it to anyone looking for an event early in the year. For anyone who missed it this year they also organise a bigger show in August at Yeovil Showground, so would be well worth checking out.
2025 Truck Show season has officially started for me, finally.
