The week leading up to the show there were reports of Storm Amy descending for the weekend. In true truckers style it didn't deter 1000s of drivers turning out for the The Original Truckfest at Newark show-ground and for many it was the season finale.

Thankfully the weather wasn't as bad as predicted. However due to the blustery weather many couldn't put up gazebos and had to re-think shelter plans. Drivers and visitors alike all braved the cold wind to enjoy a fun filled weekend at the show-ground, with many saying it had been their favourite show of the season.

The main arena was a hub of activity, with people enjoying a wide range of entertainment across the two days. From the Swamp Thing monster truck show to the PRDC putting some of the shows recovery trucks through their paces. There was also an impressive RC Truck display, with lots of the recognisable names in miniature form, as well as appearances from TV's Gladiators, truck pulling and a fairground.

The show-ground was a labyrinth of trucks with rows and rows of majestic machines at every turn. From individuals to fleets, classics to the newest releases, working trucks to show trucks, there really was something for everyone.

Spread throughout the show-ground were a range of traders selling everything from delicious food, to truck related products alongside industry services on hand to offer help and advice to visitors.

Nimbus Airbrush Art drew quite a crowd at the show as Kev battled the weather to showcase his talent. W H Betts Scania won the recent Truckfest competition to have the bank panel of their truck airbrushed at the show. Despite the weather throwing up several setbacks over the weekend, the final piece was completed, an incredible Elvis Presley design.

There also was a 'Truck of The Year' section where 25 of the award winning trucks from this season were invited to compete for the ultimate title. Invites included Richardsons Transport

Ltd, Dan Fellows with his Jurassic Scania Grab Truck and Lee of RT Keedwell. The line up was amazing, with each and every driver battling the elements to make sure their truck was polished and primed for judging. After careful consideration and with such tough

competition, Michelle Greenwood from David A Guatella International Transport was awarded first place with her Scania 660S.

Michelle says' Getting invited was enough for me, but to win it was unbelievable against the incredible competition that was there, I still can’t quite believe it! I was a bit emotional on the

way home.' A fantastic achievement for all involved in this years competition.

Live Promotions have recently announced their Truckfest 2026 dates will include 2 new shows to the calendar, giving drivers and visitors even more options for the new year. Hopefully they follow in the footsteps of the ever popular Original Newark Show.

Nottingham based J Swingler Transport had an impressive and eclectic mix on their stand which certainly caught the attention of visitors. The unique set-up displayed a range of classic trucks including an ERF EC11 through to the more modern Volvos and DAFs. What really set it apart from the other stands at the show was a beautiful and immaculate steam engine. Decorated in the company colours it sat proudly amongst the more modern machines, each a testament to the hard work and dedication from all the drivers on the day by making sure everything was pristine for the show.

Dan Fellows of Fellows Grabaway has been a regular visitor to this years Truckfest shows. Winning many awards this season, it is not surprising he was one of the trucks invited to participate for the Truck Of The Year title. The eye-catching airbrushed Jurassic themed Scania is always a show favourite with adults and children alike. With the attention to detail across this immaculate truck, it is hard to believe on a daily basis it is a working truck often in and out of dirty and dusty environments. The truck even comes with it's own security of mini dinosaurs to add to the show display.
