Despite the downsides of last years show I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they had learnt by last years mistakes and improvements had been made this year.

This year the public were only allowed in to the show for Sunday and Monday so I decided to leave early to arrive for gates opening. Again signage to the show wasn't great in the run up to the showground, but closer to the show it did improve and gaining entry to the show was a lot quicker and easier this year.

After a short queue to get into the show the crowds started to pile in.

I had about 15 people to see over the weekend so planned to do a lap of the show and then go back round to grab photos. Unfortunately this didn't go to plan. I followed the path to the right once in the show and for what seemed like forever it was a little like hunt the truck. Many smaller set ups of the path and little camps of truckers rather than the usual easy to follow rows. It did also seem like the public were being guided via a mass of traders, expensive food trucks and fun fair before actually getting to the truck displays.

Once you managed to get passed the 'attractions/traders' it was then a bit of an un-organised labyrinth to find trucks and it didn't seem to flow.

I managed to find a few of the people I had planned to catch up with, but once I got home I realised I had missed out a large chunk of the show. Not sure how, maybe it was having to try and find shelter in-between the showers throughout the day meaning I lost my bearings.

I did several trips around the ground and managed to capture lots of photos and met some lovely new people, including English Tang, Trucker Lesley, Trucker Dan and Trucker Chris from TikTok.

There was a good variety of trucks on display and everyone had made a massive effort as always. The Recovery Trucks area was great to walk around too.

Although there were quite a few food options outside on the showground I decided to purchase from one of the traders in the craft/small traders area. I had a tasty pastie and bag of sweets which cost a fraction of the cost of the outside traders and was perfect to refuel.

Massive improvements had been made at the show compared to last year, and the Good Olde British weather can't be helped. I did feel for truckers it was better organised and gave them options to create little camps/communities so they could enjoy the show to the full. A little truckers holiday camp if you will with entertainment, camping and food/drinks.

For the public not sure it was as great an experience and worth the ticket price. There was no shelter from the weather, it was hard to navigate and even on the Sunday Trucks were starting to leave.

It was good to see what was there and catch up with people, but by 4pm I was cold and a little miserable and ready for home.

Hopefully the organisers improve year on year with the show, but for me personally I will explore other show options over Truckfest Lincoln next year.
