Saturday saw the return of the Demon Tweeks Cars and Coffee event and it was my first time checking it out.
In true British style the weather was horrendous on the drive over. Flooded roads and rain from every direction, but even that didn't stop the masses from venturing to Wrexham for the event.
Maybe it was the promise of a free umbrella for the first 50 people to arrive, or just the fact everyone has missed car meets over the festive season and just wants to get back to them, but either way the the turn out was impressive.
I convoyed over with a friend and as we arrived there were queues to get in so I parked my car up the road and jumped in with my friend instead. Sitting in the queue we could already see there was going to be a great mix of cars as we were sandwiched between a Ferrari and an Audi.
It didn't take long for the queue to move and we were soon directed to a parking spot by one the many marshals easily identified by the high viz. As we parked the weather seemed to clear too which meant we could get out and walk around without ending up soaked to the skin.
The cars were parked in a large car park, so was hard standing and there was a superb range of cars. As we wandered round I was like a kid in a candy shop. From supercars, to retro classic and everything inbetween, there was something for every taste. With many cars travelling from far and wide there was a great atmosphere as everyone admired each others cars and chatted to find out more about them.
Although there was a visable police presence on the surrounding industrial estate, the meet was well managed and everyone respected the static rules. They even co-ordinated it for everyone to make a noise at 11 o'clock as a mark of respect for the iconic Ken Block who recently passed away and was well respected in the car scene.
The Demon Tweeks showroom was also open for people to browse as well as a food van on site, making it the perfect place to spend a few hours on the weekend with like minded people. No clicky vibes and no judging everyone was made to feel welcome.
I can't wait for the next one to see what other amazing cars turn up.
